Dancers of the Staten Island Ballet were “en pointe” — their pirouettes and plies’ executed to perfection, and their creative talents and strengths presented with style, sophistication and refinement.  On one of the borough’s most elegant evenings, the Staten Island Ballet’s 30th anniversary gala came to life in the Grand Ballroom of the Richmond County Country Club, the stately, historic mansion in Dongan Hills.

The Staten Island Ballet is going into its 30th year of performing “The Nutcracker”. This year is even more exceptional for another reason in the eyes of artistic director Ellen Tharp: It is the first time since the onset of the pandemic that Staten Island Ballet will perform the entirety of “The Nutcracker”.

Guests flocked to the Above Rooftop Lounge at the Hilton Garden Inn Friday evening to lend their support to the Staten Island Ballet’s return of a new season and recognize two community advocates who’ve contributed to the dance company and many other worthy organizations.
